It was a successful weekend for Ellery Balcombe and his Bromley side as they secured themselves a place in the FA Trophy Final with a 3-1 win over York City.

The Goalkeeper played the full 90 minutes in a game where York actually took the lead on two minutes. Michael Cheek then levelled for Bromley just after the hour before he then scored again to put them in front 20 minutes later. James Alabi then scored in stoppage time to seal the side’s place at Wembley where they will meet Wrexham on 22 May. The side will head to King’s Lynn Town in the league this evening.

The only other action in England in recent days came for Dom Thompson as he featured for Ipswich Town in their 1-0 defeat to Cambridge United. The match was won by a solitary goal on 56 minutes when a free-kick to the far post came off of Dom and ended up in the net as he challenged with Joe Ironside. The side are ninth in the League One table and head to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

There were 1-0 defeats for both Sheffield United and Hull City as well, though neither Charlie Goode nor Marcus Forss were involved for their loan clubs.

Looking towards Europe, with the Danish Superliga now split into two separate divisions at this stage of the season depending on how sides fared earlier in the campaign, Mads Bidstrup’s FC Nordsjælland were beaten 2-1 by OB away from home. The young midfielder once again got some good minutes under his belt having played until the 84th minute. The team will aim to bounce back when they face AGF on Sunday.

Luka Racic helped HB Køge to a 3-0 win in the Danish First Division. The opener came on five minutes before two further goals helped them to the victory where Luka played the full 90 minutes. This league also split into two divisions with HB Køge part of the second division that compete to avoid relegation. They are currently top of their group and are without defeat since early March having also picked up successive draws last month. They face Hobro next on Friday.

Looking to Spain, Joel Valencia played the second half for AD Alcorcón as they won 4-2 away from home against Real Sociedad. The side actually fell behind twice but with the score at 2-1, goals from Xisco Jimenez, Borja Valle and Giovanni Zarfino turned things around to give them the points. They are still of bottom of the Spanish second tier and they face Sporting Gijon at home on Saturday.

There was a stoppage time appearance for Halil Dervişoğlu for Galatasaray in their 2-0 win over Fatih Karagümrük S.K. Bafétimbi Gomis netted on four minutes before Ryan Babel also scored on 12 minutes to put the side 13th in the table. Next up for them is Fenerbahçe S.K. on Sunday.
