Harry Kane has won March's EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month award. He topped a public vote and was announced as the winner earlier today, Friday 1 April. Brentford striker Ivan Toney was nominated for the award, but missed out on the prize.

Ivan played three games in March and scored five goals. He grabbed a hat-trick in Brentford's win over Norwich City. He then scored two more the following week in a win over Burnley. Three of those goals were penalties and he won two of them himself when he was fouled as he was about to score.

Eight players were on the list of nominees for the prize won by England captain Kane, including his Tottenham Hotspur team mate Dejan Kulusevski. Matty Cash, of Aston Villa, and Chelsea pair Trevor Chalobah and Kai Havertz were on the list, along with Andrew Robertson of Liverpool. Arsenal's Bukayo Saka completed the list.

Kane's win came after a month in which healso became the competition's all-time leading away goalscorer. He surpassed Wayne Rooney’s record of 94 goals with his strike in a 2-0 victory at Brighton & Hove Albion. Kane had a league-leading six goal involvements during March.
