Stuart Attwell made history on 23 August 2008 when he became the youngest referee of a Premier League game, taking charge of Blackburn Rovers vs Hull City aged just 25. That completed a remarkable rise for the Nuneaton-born official who had only taken charge of his first EFL game 12 months previously.

Over the course of the past decade, Attwell has taken charge of matches in the Premier League, EFL, UEFA Champions League, Europa League, as well as two Play-Off finals and the 2011 Under-19 European Championship final.

We have lost just three times in the 11 matches which Attwell has officiated, winning six in a row between September 2012 and November 2017. That run saw League One wins over Colchester United and Swindon Town during the 2012/13 campaign, victory at Rotherham United in August 2014, a pair of wins over Charlton Athletic and Cardiff City during the 2015/16 season, and November 2017's 3-1 success at home to Leeds United.

We then suffered a pair of defeats on the road, at Millwall in April 2018 and at Swansea City in the FA Cup Fifth Round the following February. Our last outing under Attwell was one never to be forgotten as we fought back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at home to Millwall in October 2019.

So far this season, the Warwickshire FA official has shown 25 yellow cards in six matches.
