The behind closed doors match will see the side play their first match of September having had a pause during the international break.

Last time out the young Bees were narrowly beaten by a Chelsea XI at their Cobham Training Ground and they’ll get back to action in Melksham against the League Two side.

Last time they met

The young Bees played Forest Green at the same venue back in March last season and they ran out 3-1 winners. The 2020/21 B Team top scorer Aaron Pressley grabbed the game’s opening goal with a header but Rovers hit back through Jake Young. Gustav Mogensen and Lachlan Brook then managed to get themselves on the scoresheet to give Neil MacFarlane’s young side the victory.

Of course, Thomas Frank’s First Team also came up against Forest Green this season in the Carabao Cup which also saw a 3-1 score line as The Bees navigated their way through to the Third Round of the competition

Team news

With international matches still going ahead, the likes of Fin Stevens, Joe Adams and Nathan Shepperd are all away with Wales Under-21s, whilst Daniel Oyegoke and Matt Cox are also away with England Under-19s. Val Adedokun will look to get more minutes for the B Team under his belt after making his debut last time out against Chelsea. The youngster has now returned to the B Team fold following his international training camp with Republic of Ireland Under-19s.

Forest Green could play a mixture of first team and youth players in Melksham. The club are currently second in SkyBet League Two and drew 0-0 with Exeter City last time out.
