Patrik Gunnarsson was an unused substitute last night as Iceland suffered a fourth defeat in six 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, going down 4-0 to Germany in Reykjavic.
Serge Gnabry opened the scoring after four minutes with Antonio Rudiger doubling Germany’s advantage midway through the half. Leroy Sane put the game to bed early in the second-half before Timo Werner’s late fourth.
The defeat leaves Iceland on four points from six matches, seven points behind Armenia in second, with just four matches left to play. Patrik is yet to make his senior debut for Iceland, having made 12 appearances for their Under-21s.
