Brentford B Goalkeeper Matthew Cox has earned his first call-up to the England Under-20s squad ahead of two fixtures during the October international break.
The young Lions will take on Italy in a 7pm kick-off on Thursday 7 October in a match which will take place at Chesterfield’s Technique Stadium before they then travel to the Czech Republic for their second match. The side will travel to Prague on Monday 11 October in a 5pm kick-off.
Last time out for the Under-20s saw them pick up a convincing win over Romania at St George’s Park as they claimed a 6-1 victory so they’ll go into this month’s international window with confidence.

Matthew was involved in the Under-19 set up during September’s international break and the 18-year-old's performances have earned him further progression as he will now link up with Andy Edwards’ side. The youngster was last in action for Brentford B in their 1-1 draw with Charlton U23s on Wednesday as he pulled off a stunning save to help his side to the draw at Sparrows Lane.
