There are just a few hours until the Premier League weekend starts and Fantasy Premier League Managers are finalising their teams. The first game of the Premier League schedule this week is tonight, Friday 22 October, with Brentford in action on Sunday, facing Leicester City. The FPL deadline is at 6.30pm and experts have suggested Ivan Toney may be a man to pick.

The FPL season, like the Premier League season, is eight weeks old. Players that are out-performing expectations have been identified by regular players and the way teams are setting up is having an effect. The Premier League's FPL experts have identified Ivan as a man who could be a leading points scorer this week

In a piece here, The Scout - who writes about Fantasy Premier League for the Premier League - has suggested Ivan is a man to look at. The piece suggests Ivan has made an impact in recent games in terms of attempts on goal and chance creation. It is pointed out that Sunday's match could be one for the Brentford striker.

"Toney’s all-round style of play has helped him to a fine start to 2021/22 Fantasy," writes The Scout. "He has combined two goals with two assists to total 33 points, placing him seventh among forwards in the first eight Gameweeks. Despite facing both Liverpool and Chelsea in the last four Gameweeks, Toney’s attacking threat has risen when assessed against his previous displays. The forward has produced seven shots in the box in those matches, compared with his total of six beforehand, while his key passes have risen from five to six.

"Toney’s ability to supply his team-mates with big chances has caught the eye in particular recently. He has created three such opportunities in the last four Gameweeks, joint-top among all players in Fantasy. With his potential for both goals and assists, he can reward managers who put their faith in him."

One of the big issues for FPL Managers this week is an injury to Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku. The striker is one of the most popular players in the game and The Scout has suggested Ivan as a man who could replace him. Other experts have the same idea.

FPL is live with the season underway and managers can make changes to their squad ahead every week. For the first time ever, you can put Brentford players in it. You can play in classic leagues, with total points deciding the rankings, or take part in head-to-head leagues, where managers duel each Gameweek, earning three points for a win and one for a draw.
