In the lead up to Brentford's Premier League West London derby against Chelsea, David Raya spoke to the Sky Sports website. The extensive interview not only looked ahead to the match, which The Bees lost at the weekend, but touched on a variety of other topics. David discussed his journey from Spain, via Southport, to Brentford and the Premier League.

"I was at Southport for three months," David told reporter Tony Banks. "I only have good memories. I owe a lot to them for letting me play men's football. It was a very tough league.

"In my first game we lost 3-0 and I only met the other players for the first time that night. The players were part-time, they would train in the morning and then go to work. How did they do it? Playing twice a week and only staying in hotels once or twice for away games makes you grow up very quickly."

David also talked about his time with Brentford and helping The Bees reach the Premier League. He also discussed Brentford's identity. Read the piece in full here.
