Brentford B’s Matthew Cox and Daniel Oyegoke both played 90 minutes for England Under-19s as they topped their Group to qualify for the Elite Round of qualifying for the European Championships.
The side picked up a 2-0 win over Sweden, and having already beaten Andorra and drawn with Switzerland, they will now have their sights set on fixtures in March as they aim to seal a spot in next summer’s tournament.
The goals came from Dane Scarlett and Levi Colwill Samuels, the first from the Tottenham man from the spot on six minutes before Colwill Samuels added a second on 65 minutes.
Val Adedokun was an unused substitute in Republic of Ireland Under-19s’ 2-0 win over Bulgaria as they also progressed to the Elite Round.
The game was won with goals from Johnny Kenny and Sean Roughan in what has been a positive international window for Tom Mohan’s team having won two games and drawn one.
