There was a big win at home over Crewe Alexandra for AFC Wimbledon earlier this week. The match finished 3-2 with Aaron Pressley playing the final 13 minutes. It was the away side who took the lead through Christopher Long before goals from Jack Rudoni and Ollie Palmer turned the game on its head on 35 minutes. A Palmer penalty then made it 3-1 before the side were given a late scare when Chris Porter netted on 89 minutes. Nonetheless, The Dons held out to claim the points as they sit 18th in league table. Next up for them is a home match with Fleetwood Town.
Alex Gilbert was unused substitute in Swindon Town's 3-1 win over Hartlepool United. All of the goals came in the second half as Jonny Williams struck on 52 minutes before Tyreece Simpson also found the net. Jack Payne then netted in stoppage time to help Swindon into the automatic promotion spots. Next up for the side is a home fixture with Harrogate Town this weekend.
Ellery Balcombe was not involved in Burton’s 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley. Daniel Jebbison and Jonny Smith both netted twice on the night in the convincing win as the side sit 12th in the table. They’ll aim for another positive result when they host Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
As for Jaakko Oksanen and his Greenock Morton side, having been beaten 2-1 last weekend, the team will aim to bounce back when they travel to Inverness Caledonian Thistle this weekend.
In Europe, Galatasaray secured qualification for the knockout stages of the Europa League on Thursday night following a 4-2 home win over Marseille. They took the lead on 12 minutes through Alexandru Cicâldau before an own goal and a Sofiane Feghouli strike from close range put the side 3-0 ahead. Marseille then had a penalty saved a few minutes later but got themselves on the scoresheet soon after through Arkadiusz Milik. Ryan Babel made it 4-1 on 83 minutes before another Milik goal made the final score line. Halil Dervişoğlu was an unused substitute for the team, who are away at Yeni Malatyaspor on Sunday.
As for Patrik Gunnarsson, his Viking FK side travel to Kristiansund in the league this weekend and they sit third in the table.
