In England there was 65 minutes of League Once football for Aaron Pressley at AFC Wimbledon. In their way was a Cambridge United side and they fell to a 1-0 defeat. Jensen Weir grabbed the game’s only goal on 47 minutes to give United the win and leave The Dons 17th in the table. Wimbledon will now turn their attentions to a match with Guiseley in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.

In the same division Ellery Balcombe was an unused substitute as Burton Albion fell to a 2-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic. Their tough task was made even harder after just 15 minutes when Jonny Smith was sent off. James McClean had already put Athletic in front on nine minutes before Curtis Tilt added another goal six minutes after the break. Burton are away at Fleetwood on Saturday in the FA Cup.

In League Two, Alex Gilbert was an unused substitute in Swindon Town’s 3-1 win away at Oldham. Harry McKirdy opened the scoring on 32 minutes before Tyreece Simpson doubled their lead 11 minutes from time. Oldham pulled one back on 90 minutes but Simpson ensured the points were safe as he finished again in stoppage time. The side will now face Crewe Alexandra in the FA Cup on Saturday.

In Turkey there was 74 minutes of game time for Halil Dervişoğlu as he helped Galatasaray to a 2-0 win over Gaziantep. The first goal came from Olimpiu Moruţan in first half stoppage time before the second came courtesy of Muhammed Kerem Aktürkoğlu. The side are sixth in the table and are in Europa League action on Thursday as they host Lokomotiv Moscow.

In Norway Patrik Gunnarsson missed Viking FK’s rare defeat through illness. Sarpsborg 08 won the match on Viking home soil 2-1. The away side took the lead through Anton Salétros before Gianni Stensness made it 1-1 just five minutes later. Joachim Thomassen then put the away side back in front on the hour. Next up for Viking is an away trip to Mjøndalen IF.
