Jan Žambůrek has retained his spot in the Czech Republic squad for their next two Under-21 European Championship Qualifiers.

The Group G leaders face away games against England at Turf Moor on Thursday 11 November and then Slovenia at the Stadion Bonifika, Koper-Capodistria, five days later.

So far the Czechs have a perfect four wins from four to lead their group by three points. Lee Carsley's Young Lions are currently in third with seven points from three games while Slovenia are fourth with four points from four outings.

20-year-old Jan has two caps for his nation at Under-21 level, both of those coming in Qualifying victories over Kosovo last month. Across all youth age groups, Jan has made 47 appearances for Czechia, scoring five goals. Last January, he was named runner-up in the Czech Republic Young Player of the Year award and was also a standby player for this summer's Under-21 European Championships in Hungary and Slovenia.

Jan came through the ranks at Slavia Praha before joining Brentford B in the summer of 2018. The following February, Jan became the first player born in the 2000s to appear in a competitive match for the Club when he made his debut against Hull City at Griffin Park. Aged 18, Jan was officially promoted to the First Team squad in August 2019 and made his full league debut against Blackburn Rovers that November. He has played 29 games for The Bees, 23 of them in the Championship and nine during last season's promotion-winning campaign.
