Last week the Premier League announced 2022/23 season dates and the EFL have now followed suit. The season has been adjusted to accommodate the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will take place in the middle of the domestic calendar. It will mean a six week break in the middle of the Premier League campaign.

The Premier League season will start on 6 August 2022. Match round 16 will be the last set of matches played over the weekend of 12-13 November. League matches will resume on Boxing Day.

The EFL has announced the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two are set to start on the weekend of Saturday 30 July 2022. The Championship will also pause after 13 November. The second tier will, however, resume on 10 December 2022.

The Championship will restart after the culmination of the World Cup Group Stages. League One and League Two fixtures will continue as normal. The FIFA World Cup Final takes place on Sunday 18 December 2022.

The Carabao Cup will get underway in the week commencing 8 August. Second Round matches will be played in the week of 24 August 2022. The Carabao Cup Final will be played at Wembley Stadium, on Sunday 26 February.
