A clean sheet and a pair of hat-tricks helped Brentford FC Women’s B Team make progress in the London Senior Cup. The Bees hosted the newly formed Hammersmith FC with four players on the bench due to injuries. However, that didn’t stop them from dominating the game and taking a 6-0 win.

It was a slow game to start with as both teams took a while to warm into their feet. There was little action at either end of the pitch with most within the midfield. Brentford had a lot of the ball in the centre of the park but struggled to create any real chances of note.

After 24 minutes Chloe Logie hit the bar which showed Brentford’s impetus. The Bees were dominant in possession but unable to make anything of it until the 40th minute when Logie finally scored. She sent a strike over the opposition keeper and dropped the ball into the bottom left of the net.

Logie’s goal seemed to release the shackles and Jasmine Williamson scored a soft goal just before half time. The match had been unlocked for Brentford, and two minutes into the second half Williamson took a run from the middle and with a beautiful strike sent it into the net via a deflection.

Logie and Williamson were linking well and a smooth play of passes between them led to a goal from a powerful shot by Logie at the 49th minute. It was a great goal, but also one that sent Hammersmith’s keeper off as she sustained an injury. The match continued and Williamson secured her hat-trick after a pass from Logie. And in the 62nd minute Logie got her treble, as she guided in a strike from Williamson.

Head Coach Will Blithing expressed his joy after the win. He said: "I was very happy with the result today, especially against a team who haven’t lost a game this season. We are really hitting some form at a good time and hopefully we can continue this form in the league up till the Christmas break."
