Consultation to begin on plans for upgraded Training and Performance Centre

Brentford FC are to start consulting on updated proposals for an improved Training and Performance Centre at Jersey Road

30 November 2021

Brentford FC is about to begin consulting with local residents and neighbours on a new planning application for the training facilities based at Jersey Road.

The Club already has planning permission for a range of improvements to our existing Training Ground, which was granted in August 2020. However, these plans were developed more than two years ago, were based on the requirements for Championship football and did not include facilities essential for a Premier League club.

We are revisiting the plans and will be submitting the planning application next year. We want to create the best possible facility for our players and staff by delivering a training ground fit for the Premier League. This will help the Club meet its aspirations both now and in the long term.

We also want the Training and Performance Centre to be an asset for the community, providing real benefits for local schools and community groups. We are proud of our connections in Brentford and the wider area; this is our home.

To ensure the facility meets the Club’s current and future needs, our proposals will:

  • Replace the outdated existing buildings with new high-quality buildings which will help to create an environment that promotes success and inspires the players and staff.
  • Incorporate facilities that can be used for a Football Academy in line with UEFA requirements to enable the Club to train the next generation of young footballers as and when the time is right.
  • Include a covered pitch, a new full size external 4G pitch and floodlights for two outdoor pitches for all year-round training and community use.
  • Provide space for a programme of community uses including youth and school outreach work run by Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.

Before we submit a planning application for these proposals, we will be consulting with our neighbours on Jersey Road and the surrounding area. This will involve meetings with local politicians and residents’ groups as well as two public exhibition events in The Pavilion at the Training Ground (100 Jersey Rd, Hounslow, TW5 0TP) on Tuesday 7 December (4.30pm-7.30pm) and Wednesday 8 December (4.30-7.30pm).

We would also welcome any fans who would like to join us at the public exhibition events in order to find out more about the plans. We look forward to seeing you there!
