The details have been confirmed for Brentford's Carabao Cup Quarter Final. The Bees will face Chelsea in the last eight of the competition. The match will be played at our new stadium on Wednesday 22 December. It will kick-off at 7.45pm. Details of admission prices and ticket availability will follow in due course.

This will be the second meeting between the teams this season. Chelsea won the first match 1-0 last month with a first half goal from Ben Chilwell. The Blues are currently top of the Premier League with eight wins from their ten matches so far. They are also the current UEFA Champions League holders.

The Bees reached this stage by overcoming Stoke City 2-1 last Wednesday night. Sergi Canós put The Bees in front before Ivan Toney scored what proved to be the winner. The Bees have previously beaten Forest Green Rovers, 3-1 in the Second Round, and Oldham Athletic, 7-0 in the Third Round, to reach the last eight.

It is only the second time in the Club's history that The Bees will play a last eight tie in the competition. The other time was last season when Brentford beat Newcastle United 1-0 thanks to a Josh Dasilva goals. The Bees then lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the last four.

Chelsea joined the competition at the Third Round stage and have been taken to penalties in both their ties. The first was a 4-3 win over Aston Villa after a 1-1 draw in normal time. The Blues then needed spot-kicks again after securing the same 1-1 scoreline against Southampton last week, Kepa Arrizabalaga the hero once more in a 4-3 shoot-out win.

The Blues have won this competition five times, lastly in 2015. They have also been runners-up on three further occasions. They, like Brentford, were knocked out by Tottenham last season in another penalty shoot-out.
