Brentford had an early chance, which Shannon Read fired straight at the keeper but it was a positive start. Actonians were putting The Bees under pressure and lots of physical challenges were going in from both sides.

The Bees counter-attacked and scored to take the lead. A through ball played into Jasmine Williamson’s path was coolly finished by the striker however there was some uncertainty if the ball crossed the line. Read made sure by smashing the ball into the back of the net.

Read then added a second for Brentford, a well-worked move from the left hand side found Read with lots of space. She rounded the keeper and slotted home.

A couple of chance for Actonians came and went from set pieces, which Hannah Iguchi was equal to. Actonians pulled a goal back just after half-time, Antonia Cole received the ball before a monstrous strike left Iguchi helpless.

Read almost restored the two goal lead but her strike curled just wide of the far post. An own goal made it 3-1 to Brentford. After Brentford kept moving the ball, the ladies played it out wide and a delivery by Read was helped in by one of the Actonians centre-backs.

Read then completed her hat-trick from the penalty spot and put the game to bed, 4-1.
