English Football League (EFL) clubs, including Brentford, have been marking this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, taking place from 10 – 16 May 2021. Football fans up and down the country are being encouraged to join in the fight. The full story on why MHAW is so important can be seen here.
The EFL and Mind ‘On Your Side’ charity partnership launched ahead of the 2018/19 season with the aim of raising awareness of mental health, improving the approach to mental health in football and to raise funds to deliver life-changing support. Since then, the partnership has successfully delivered award-winning campaigns in the fight for better mental health within football. Brentford FC Head Coach is an On Your Side ambassador.
The past 14 months have been difficult for everyone. Restrictions on movement due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak has made life tough and there has been more pressure on mental health, but you can join in the fight. See more below.
During this pandemic, millions of us have struggled with our mental health like never before. That’s why we’re supporting @MindCharity to step up the fight for mental health this #MHAW.— EFL (@EFL) May 12, 2021
