An in-depth interview with Thomas Frank was published by the Daily Mail earlier this week. During the interview, conducted in mid-April, Thomas discussed the way his team had been "performing unbelievably" to challenge for promotion for the second season in a row. The Bees eventually finished third in the Sky Bet Championship with the second-highest points total in their history.

The piece was published hours before Brentford were beaten by AFC Bournemouth in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Semi-Final First Leg. Arnaut Danjuma scored the only goal of the game early in the second half. The Second Leg will be played in West London on Saturday, 22 May.

"I’ve no doubt that we as a club, staff, coaches, players, have learned and will be more experienced and better prepared," said Thomas, in the interview. "Unfortunately, in football that does not equal 100 per cent success. But we will have a bigger chance, definitely."

Thomas also discussed the role luck on the day will play in the final matches of the season, as well as why he did not finish a sports psychology degree. He also outlined some "remarkable" aspects of the season so far. Read the piece here.
