Tariqe Fosu has been called in to the Ghana squad for a pair of international friendly matches in June. The 25-year-old attacking midfield player is part of a Ghana squad to play Morocco and Ivory Coast next month. He will link up ahead of the first game on 8 June in Rabat. Ghana will play host to the second match on 12 June.

Ghana are preparing for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, to be played at the start of 2022, and are about to start the qualification process for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Qatar at the end of next year. Ghana confirmed their place for the Cup of Nations in March, finishing top of a qualification group ahead of Sudan, South Africa and São Tomé and Príncipe. They play Ethiopia, South Africa and Zimbabwe in the next stage of World Cup qualification in the autumn.

Tariqe has earned four caps for his country so far, making his debut last October. He has scored one goal, in a friendly against Qatar. Tariqe did not travel to African for Ghana’s last matches, in March, due to travel restrictions imposed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
