The Brentford FC Supporters Club of Norway have named Ivan Toney as their Player of the Season for 2020/21. Ivan has, so far, scored 32 goals for Brentford in his first year with The Bees. He hit 31 of those in the regular Sky Bet Championship season, to help Brentford finish third in the table.

Ivan's goals were the most scored in the second tier for almost 30 years and earned him the Golden Boot. He also hit double figures in terms of assists as he became only the sixth player in Brentford's EFL history to reach 30 goals in a season. Ivan's goal scoring feats can be seen here,

It is usual for our Norwegian supporters to visit at the end of every season to present their award in person. They were not able to do so this season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They did, however, hold their annual poll, which was completed last week, and Ivan came out on top. Voters praised his defensive work as well as the goals and assists.

Ivan follows in the footsteps of Ollie Watkins and Saïd Benrahma, who took the award in the past two seasons. Daniel Bentley, Ryan Woods, Clayton Donaldson and Adam Forshaw have also won the Norwegian supporters’ prize in recent years.
