Tyler Boyd would have Sivasspor back in front at the break but Galatasaray’s Columbian striker grabbed his second of the afternoon from the penalty spot 20 minutes from time.
In Poland, Legia Warsaw picked up another win on the road as they beat Śląsk Wrocław 1-0 but Joel Valencia was not involved for the side on the day.
On English soil there would be just one of our players who would gain minutes in the Football League as Jaakko Oksanen came off the bench to help AFC Wimbledon to a second successive 1-1 draw. They took on Blackpool away from home and it was Ollie Palmer who secured the point late on as he finished in the 93rd minute.
Also in Sky Bet League One, Ellery Balcombe was an unused substitute as Doncaster Rovers beat Plymouth Argyle 2-1 at home. They went ahead through Tom Anderson before Omar Bogle doubled the host’s lead two minutes after the break. The Devon side would quickly pull a goal back but Rovers held out for the win to sit fifth in the table ahead of a trip to Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday.
Dom Thompson wasn’t involved for Swindon Town as they were beaten 2-1 at Accrington. Dion Charles and Colby Bishop found the net for Stanley and Swindon now sit one point above the relegation zone as they prepare to make the trip to the Kassam Stadium to face Oxford United in midweek.
Finally, in Sky Bet League Two there was no game time for Arthur Read nor Joe Adams. Both were unused substitutes for their loan clubs with Stevenage beating Harrogate Town to continue their good run of form as Elliott List grabbed another goal for the side in a 1-0 win. They are now 15th in the league table having pulled themselves away from danger. As for Grimsby Town, Joe Adams watched on as his loan team were beaten 2-1 at home by Forest Green Rovers. In a tight game Ebou Adams struck the winner on 66 minutes as his effort deflected into the goal to confirm all three points for the Gloucestershire side.
