In a game where both sides were aiming to pull themselves away from danger it was John Sheridan’s side who came out on top at The Memorial Stadium. Dom played 90 minutes on the night as Jack Payne grabbed the winner in the 71st minute when he picked up a loose ball before firing home. The side are now 19th in the table and sit three points above the relegation zone.

There was no midweek game for Doncaster Rovers nor AFC Wimbledon in the same division. Ellery Balcombe’s Doncaster travel to MK Dons on Saturday and are currently fifth in the table. As for Jaakko Oksanen’s Dons, they are set to welcome Northampton Town at the weekend. The decision was made recently for Jaakko to remain with Wimbledon rather than head out to Finland to join up with the Under-21 national side for friendly fixtures.

In Sky Bet League Two, Joe Adams missed Grimsby Town’s 1-0 win over Barrow due to being on international duty with Wales Under-21s. Luke Spokes grabbed the game’s only goal to give Town an important three points, though they still sit seven points from safety.

As for Arthur Read and Stevenage, there was no midweek game, though they will be looking to record back-to-back wins when they host Barrow at The Lamex Stadium this weekend.

On foreign soil there hasn’t been any midweek action, mainly due to the international break. Patrik Gunnarsson, who is with Iceland for the Under-21 European Championship Group matches, will be missing from two friendlies for Silkeborg back in Denmark. Their traditional league campaign has drawn to a close after they finished second and qualified for play-off matches which are due to be played in the coming weeks.

There’s been no recent action for Legia Warsaw and Joel Valencia with the Polish giants next in action on 3 April when they take on second place Pogoń Szczecin. Legia are already seven points clear at the top and can further their lead in the Ekstraklasa when the sides meet.

Halil Dervişoğlu’s Galatasaray are next in action against Hatayspor on 3 April, whilst Julian Jeanvier’s Kasımpaşa S.K face Beşiktaş on Sunday 4 April.
