Both sides had taken four points from their opening two games but Germany's better goal difference meant that avoiding defeat would send them through to May's Quarter-Finals.

Both sides hit the woodwork at the Bozsik Stadion. Alexandru Măţan was denied by the frame of the goal early on for the Romanians while Lukas Nmecha rattled the post with a penalty in the 72nd minute. Amos Pieper also saw an effort come back off the bar for Germany as Stefan Kuntz's side got the point they needed.

Netherlands' 6-1 win over Hungary sees them progress as Group winners with Germany through to face the winners of Group C. Right now it is Mads Bech Sorensen and Mads Roerslev's Denmark who top that group ahead of their final game against Russia tonight.

Should The Danes avoid defeat it would send them through as Group victors and set up a Quarter-Final tie against Vitaly and Germany in Székesfehérvár on 31 May.
