The Brentford skipper had been out of action since mid-January following ankle surgery but returned to captain today's team to victory. Also in the lineup, First Team regulars Emiliano Marcondes and Charlie Goode, who have had their own injury problems in recent weeks.

Marcus Forss scored a hat-trick, including a goal from the penalty spot, as Lachlan Brook and Valgeir Valgeirsson added their own goals in the second half.

Assitant First Team Coaches Brian Riemer and Kevin O'Connor led the side at a rainswept Bisham Abbey, in conjunction with B Team staff, the game featuring a mix of senior and junior players.

It took just over half an hour for the first goal to go in, Forss netting his first on an assist from Brook. The Australian was released down the right wing before he cut the ball back to Forss, who applied the finish via the crossbar.

A few minutes later, the B squad had a chance to double the lead from the penalty spot. Jan Zamburek was pushed as he controlled a ball into the box, which left the referee no choice but to award the kick. Forss stepped up and drilled his second goal of the afternoon into the bottom left corner.

After the break, Ebbsfleet didn't take long to provide a response. Just a few minutes after the restart, Alfie Egan took aim and fired in from the edge of the box. Goalkeeper Nathan Shepperd was given no chance as the shot flew into the top corner.

Soon after, Brook was on the scoresheet to get that two-goal cushion back. The ball was won back by Gustav Mogensen's pressure on the left, before it fell to Marcondes. The Dane showed good footwork to maneuver a pass towards the unmarked Brook at the far post, who swept home his second goal in as many games.

Brook then joined Marcondes and Jansson in leaving the field after 70 minutes of action.

Forss then netted his hat-trick. Mogensen worked the ball into space on the left, before crossing into the box for Forss to volley beneath goalkeeper Jordan Holmes.

A few minutes before the end, The Bees made it five. Substitute Valgeirsson collected the ball on the edge of the box before setting himself to drill the ball beyond two defenders and the keeper.

The full-time whistle confirmed a 5-1 win for The Bees, a day after the First Team collected three points with a 1-0 win at Blackburn Rovers. Look out for more information online about upcoming B Team games.
