Five Star performance at Preston

Having drawn the previous four, The Bees were looking to get back to winning ways to keep up their chase towards the top of the division. Saturday 10 April saw them certainly do that as they netted five goals without reply on a memorable afternoon. The Bees raced into an early lead and didn’t let their opponents back in as Bryan Mbeumo netted on nine minutes before Marcus Forss added the second shortly before the half hour mark. With 15 to play Ivan Toney got in on the act before Sergi Canós and Emiliano Marcondes added another couple late on.

Mads Bidstrup makes his debut at Deepdale

The young Dane, who joined Brentford B in the summer of 2020, had impressed in training for the First Team, and after some solid displays in midfield for Neil MacFarlane’s side, he earned a taste of Championship football for the final seven minutes at Preston. Mads has since gone on to feature more for the side, most notably in the Play-Offs in both the Semi-Final and Final at Wembley Stadium. He has also now been promoted officially as a member of Thomas Frank’s squad.

Sergi Canós makes his 200th Brentford appearance

Our match with Millwall saw our Spanish winger clock up 200 appearances for the Club. Having had a taste of life at Brentford back in 2015, Sergi returned in 2017 permanently and has been a key figure for the side in recent seasons. He came back from a long spell out injured last season and has helped the Bees to the Premier League in 2020/21.

Tariqe Fosu hits 50 appearances

Our match with Huddersfield saw a milestone for Tariqe Fosu as he clocked up his 50th appearance in red and white. The winger made his first appearance for the side in 2019/20 in a 1-1 draw with Leeds at Griffin Park in February 2020, and he’s certainly settled well in West London.

Brentford B register win over Arsenal Under-23s

Over the course of the 2020/21 season Brentford B have put on some impressive displays. Their match with Arsenal was one of the highlights as The Gunners travelled to Bisham Abbey for the fixture in the April sunshine. An 89th minute Aaron Pressley strike secured them the win on the day with the young forward, who had found the net earlier on from the penalty spot, struck late following a Brentford corner to give Neil MacFarlane’s side the win. Lachlan Brook grabbed the other goal for The Bees as Folarin Balogun found the net on two occasions for The Gunners.
