Marcus Forss joined Brentford B in June 2017 following his departure from West Bromwich Albion. Linking up with the young Bees the striker went from strength to strength in his development. As part of the EFL’s Youth Development Week, we’ve highlighted the forward as someone who was raised in the EFL and has developed hugely in recent seasons.
He netted his first goals for the B team in a 6-0 win over Benfica B in Portugal. He grabbed four on the day, three of which came in the first 23 minutes of the match.
The youngster then continued to kick on with the B Team and netted his first Griffin Park goal in a 3-1 win over Manchester United in March 2018. His performances then earned him a First Team promotion and he netted against the likes of Southend United in the EFL Cup before going on to grab his first League goal against Preston North End in May 2019.
A loan with Wimbledon saw Marcus hit fantastic form as he got regular game time in Sky Bet League One. He netted 11 times in 19 appearances before his campaign was curtailed through injury.
Marcus has since gone on to turn out for Finland at senior level, finding the net against France on his senior debut in Paris. He will also represent the side at this summer's EURO 2020.
Part of Thomas Frank’s side for the 2020/21 season, Marcus notched 11 goals in 55 appearances for the team as he helped the Club to promotion to the Premier League. Watch some of his best bits as we look at his journey so far.
