Brentford have played Chelsea in FA Cup ties in 2013 and 2017. The teams also met in the  cup in 1950. They last met in league competition in the 1946/47 season and have never met in league matches outside the top flight.

Brentford haven't played Crystal Palace in the league since the 1963/64 season, when they were both in Division Three. All previous league meetings were in the third tier, or when it was regionalised until 1958.

Brentford played Tottenham Hotspur only a few months ago, losing in a Carabao Cup Semi-Final. The teams also met in the same competition in 1992, 1998 and 2000. The sides have never played each other in the top flight, with previous league games coming in the second tier in the last 1940s.

Brentford and Watford came up from the Sky Bet Championship together this season. Watford finished second in the table while The Bees won the Play-Offs. Brentford took four points from the games in 2020/21, drawing away and winning at home.

Brentford last played West Ham in the 1992/93 season, when both were in the second tier. Other league meetings were also in Division Two in the 1930s and 40s. The sides have never met in the top flight.
