Starting with Saman Ghoddos, he played 90 minutes for Iran in their impressive 10-0 win over Cambodia. The result keeps qualification very much in their own hands in Group C. Iran were in control from the 16th minute as Brighton’s Alireza Jahanbakhsh converted from the penalty spot before they found the net another three times before the break.

The side were 4-0 ahead going into the second half and they continued their ruthless performance with more goals from the likes of Milad Mohammadi and Morteza Pouraliganji. Another goal from the spot and three more in the final 10 minutes gave them their 10-0 scoreline.

Iran now have 15 points and sit second in their group behind Iraq, who have two more points. The sides will play against each other on Tuesday 15 June.

There was game time for Halil Dervişoğlu last night as his Turkey side opened EURO 2020 in Rome against Italy.

It was a tough night, though, as Italy picked up a 3-0 win with three second half goals at the Stadio Olimpico. Halil entered the field with 14 minutes to play, but was unable to help the side back into the game against a dominant Italy. The goals for the Azzurri came from a Turkey own goal before Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne both struck later in the match.

As for Turkey, they will look to bounce back in their second fixture of the tournament against Wales on Wednesday.
