International Recap: Sweden win second match

Jansson unused sub as Slovakia are beaten 1-0

19 June 2021

Sweden beat Slovakia 1-0 at Euro 2020 as Pontus Jansson remained on the bench for the second Group E match.

Emil Forsberg scored a second-half penalty to secure his side took all three points, making it four from the first two matches. They wait for tomorrow's result between Spain and Poland to see if they will hold on to top spot in the group stage, having drawn 0-0 with the Spaniards on Monday.

Brentford players won't feature in today's action but Turkey play a crucial match against Switzerland on Sunday. Halil Dervisoglu has played in both of their defeats to Italy and Wales so far, coming on as a sub. With qualification to the knockout stages riding on the game, he might get to feature from the beginning if Turkey opt for more players in attack.

Denmark and Finland are both in action on Monday.
