The game against Hong Kong at the Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium was their first of four in 12 days which will decide Iran's World Cup fate.

Ali Gholizadeh opened the scoring midway through the first-half with Vahid Amiri grabbing a second on the hour, shortly after Saman had been introduced. Karim Ansarifard wrapped up the points late on although Hong Kong did grab a consolation through Cheng Siu Kwan with five minutes to play.

The appearance was Saman's 23rd for Iran and first as a contracted Brentford player.

Iran remain third and are still three points behind Bahrain, who they play at the Bahrain National Stadium on Monday, with three to play.

In Germany, Halil Dervişoğlu didn't feature as Turkey's final Warm Up game ahead of Euro 2020 ended in a 2-0 win over Moldova.

Burak Yılmaz and Cengiz Ünder got the second-half goals as Turkey completed their preparations for next Friday's opening game against Italy at the Stadio Olimpico.
