Halil Dervişoğlu has been included in Turkey's final 26 man squad for the European Championships which begin next Friday, 11 June.
The previously uncapped striker has been in a Turkey Training Camp for the past week, scoring against Azerbaijan on his debut last Thursday and coming off the bench to earn his second cap against Guinea on Monday. Those performances have been enough to earn Halil a spot in Turkey's final selection for this summer's tournament.
Turkey face Italy at the Stadio Olimpico next Friday, kick-off 8pm, in the tournament's opening match before moving to Baku to play Wales on Wednesday 16 June, kick-off 5pm. Their final Group A game is in the same venue against Switzerland four days later, kick-off 5pm.
Before then Şenol Güneş' side face one more friendly against Moldova in Paderborn, Germany, on Thursday, kick-off 6pm.
Halil, who joined The Bees from Sparta Rotterdam in early 2020, has been a regular for Turkey’s Under-21s, scoring five goals in three appearances for them this season to take his tally eight goals in 13 appearances.
The 21-year-old had a fine end to the domestic season. He scored on each of his final three starts for Galatasaray, the club he spent the second-half of the season on loan at, as they finished second in the table, missing out on the title on goals scored. Having played the first half of the season on loan with FC Twente, where he made ten appearances, Halil returned to West London in January and scored one and made one as Brentford beat Middlesbrough in an Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie before completing the season in Turkey.
