Neil MacFarlane’s side are currently training at Harrow Sports and Fitness Club, and they’re being put through their paces in preparation for a match with Sutton United on Tuesday 13 July where they will turn out as a Brentford XI.

The Frenchman is looking forward to building on what was a solid start to life at Brentford since joining from AS Béziers last season.

He explained: “I’m happy to be back to start the new season and see the team. Last season I had my friends Julien (Carre) and Aubrel (Koutsimouka) who also speak French, but I’m here now and looking forward to keep learning English.

“Last season was good for me, it’s not the same game as in France. There’s much more intensity here in training, and despite the injury that I had, it was a good season for me because I learned a lot.”

Discussing the recent training sessions, Tristan says it’s important that the side put in the hard work in preparation for another season of development.

He explained: “We are in a really good centre (at Harrow) and it’s important to be ready for the season. It’s important that we have a good pre-season to be ready for the coming months of progress.

“This season is very important, I’m 20 in November and I need to be ready to progress my game. There are new faces here and they’re very nice and they want to come in and work hard which is good.”

With matches against men’s side like Sutton and Cambridge to come, Tristan believes it’s vital to learn to play against these sides for their development.

“I think it’s important to play against big men when we are around 20,” said the youngster. “When we play against teams who are 25 or 26 it’s a good test. I’m really enjoying my time here and we’re all looking forward to playing in front of supporters soon.”
