The eyes of the football world will be on Wembley this evening and Brentford is likely to get a mention. England will face Denmark in the Semi-Final of the delayed UEFA European Championships 2020. The tournament, played a year later than planned due to the Covid-19 pandemic, is in its final stages and Brentford will be represented, as detailed here.

Brentford's Danish connections are well known. We have two players in the Denmark squad for the event - Mathias Jensen and Christian Nørgaard - who have played a big role in their run so far. Our most-capped player is Denmark's Henrik Dalsgaard and we have Danish representation in our playing squads, coaching staff, off-field staff and Board.

But it may not be known that Denmark Head Coach Kasper Hjulmand, is a long-term friend of our Head Coach Thomas Frank. The pair have known each other for decades and Thomas has been in touch with Kasper through the tournament. Thomas has written about Kasper and this relationship for the Daily Telegraph.
