The match, which will consist mainly of Brentford B Team players, will see some of the young Bees get their first minutes in pre-season. They will take on a Cambridge side who are in preparation for their Sky Bet League One campaign having sealed promotion from English football’s fourth tier last season.

From a Brentford perspective, the match will be taken by the B Team coaching staff as Neil MacFarlane could hand first Brentford appearances to the likes of Daniel Oyegoke, Nathan Young-Coombes and Dom Jefferies.

Cambridge were last in action on Saturday as they faced Cardiff City in two 60-minute friendlies as the sides looked to give their squads valuable minutes. United won the first contest 2-0 whilst the second match ended 1-1 in South Wales.
