Brentford defender Ethan Pinnock will not be part of the Jamaica squad for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Ethan was in an initial group of 60 players for the tournament, the biennial international men's football championship organized by North America, Central American and Caribbean's football ruling body CONCACAF. But he was not named in the final squad, announced this week. Ethan will, instead, return to pre-season training with Brentford.

Ethan made his debut for Jamaica against USA in Austria in March. London-born Ethan qualifies for Jamaica through his father, who was born there, and also has international recognition at England C level, the team that represents the country at non-league level. He was named in a Jamaica squad for matches in Japan at the start of June but withdrew due to his season continuing until the end of May when Brentford won the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final and promotion to the Premier League.

Ethan played for England C while with Dulwich Hamlet, where he spent six years before progressing through the leagues with Forest Green Rovers, Barnsley and now Brentford to reach the Premier League. He has played 88 games for The Bees in two seasons in West London. He has scored four goals for Brentford, including our first at our new stadium, in a Carabao Cup tie against Wycombe Wanderers.
