Brentford's preparations for their first-ever Premier League season starts today. The First Team playing squad reported back for pre-season training this morning, Thursday 8 July. They will kick-off their first top flight season since 1947 on Friday 13 August against Arsenal.

The group will be a little smaller initially with players that featured in international fixtures having extra rest. Some familiar faces will be returning with Dominic Thompson, Joel Valencia, Julian Jeanvier and Patrik Gunnarson back in West London after time away with loan clubs. There will be five full weeks of training for those that are back today before the first day of the season.

Brentford's first pre-season game will be against AFC Wimbledon next Saturday, 17 July. Games have also been confirmed against Boreham Wood and Manchester United with more information on these fixtures and others to follow. More from training today will be on our channels in the coming hours.
