Brentford's first pre-season friendly ahead of the 2021/22 Premier League season will be against AFC Wimbledon. The Bees return to pre-season training next week, with the first game of the Premier League season against Arsenal on 13 August. Match preparations will begin on Saturday 17 July at Plough Lane against AFC Wimbledon. The match will kick-off at 3pm.

Brentford's Premier League season will start just over six weeks from now. The Bees will play in the top flight of English football for the first time since 1947 and the game against AFC Wimbledon is part of the pre-season programme. Details on futher pre-season fixtures will follow when confirmed.

It is currently not expected that Brentford fans will be able to attend this game. As part of an update here, AFC Wimbledon have informed that only 2,500 can attend. These tickets will go to AFC Wimbledon Season Ticket Holders. More information on how Bees fans can follow the game will follow when confirmed.

This will be Brentford's first visit to the rebuilt Plough Lane. AFC Wimbledon built a new stadium a short walk from the home of the former Wimbledon FC and moved in last November. The stadium is built on the site of the former Wimbledon greyhound track. The sides did meet in a pre-season game in 2019 and an EFL Cup tie in 2017. Both games were played at Kingsmeadow, in Kingston, where AFC Wimbledon played until last November.

AFC Wimbledon are preparing for a Sky Bet League One season, their sixth at that level. They finished 19th in the table last season, avoiding relegation by four points. They will kick-off their season away to Doncaster Rovers at the start of August.
