Brentford's Sky Bet Championship match away to Swansea City will be shifted from its scheduled date. The Bees were due to head to South Wales on Saturday 23 January for a match scheduled to kick-off at 3pm. But that weekend has been set aside for Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round ties and with both teams involved in that competition, the match will be moved.

Brentford will face Leicester City in the FA Cup Fourth Round after beating Middlesbrough in the Third Round. Swansea also reached the next stage as they beat Stevenage on Saturday. They will face Nottingham Forest in the Fourth Round. With both ties being played on the weekend of 23 January, the league game will be moved. A new date will be announced when confirmed.

This game, when played, will be the sixth game between the sides in around 15 months. Brentford beat the Welsh outfit home and away in the league last season and came out on top in a Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Semi-Final in July. The Bees lost away from home but won 3-1 in the final competitive First Team game at Griffin Park to progress to the Play-Off Final.

The teams drew 1-1 with they met in November. Ivan Toney put The Bees in front and while they had to withstand pressure, they held the lead in the final stages of the game. But André Ayew tapped in from close range to level it up inside the final 15 minutes and earn his team a point.

Both teams are currently in the top four in the Championship. Swansea sit second, four points behind leaders Norwich City. They are two places and two points ahead of Brentford but The Bees have a game in hand and will climb above the Welsh side if they beat Bristol City tomorrow, Wednesday 13 January.
