Norwich City attacker Emi Buendia has been voted the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans' Player of the Month for December, beating Ivan Toney and Sergi Canos to the prize.
All three players found the net four times during the final month of 2020 but it was The Canaries' Argentine attacker who took the highest number of fan votes to beat our duo, plus the AFC Bournemouth pair of Asmir Begovic and Dom Solanke, and Swansea City's Jamal Lowe to the prize.
For Sergi December saw his first goals since April 2019 while Ivan's four strikes moved him back to the top of the Sky Bet Championship scoring charts with 16.
The month began with a 2-0 win over Rotherham United, Ivan setting up Marcus Forss for the opener before converting from the spot following a late foul on Sergi. The pair were then both on target in a 2-2 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers four days later, Sergi's stunning strike ending the 23-year-old's wait for a goal. A week on at The City Ground Sergi set up Josh Dasilva for our second goal with Ivan adding the late gloss courtesy of a fine third.
Ivan grabbed his fourth of the month from the penalty spot at Vicarage Road during our 1-1 draw against Watford while both registered assists the following Saturday as we won 3-1 at home to Reading. Sergi saved his best of the month for Boxing Day, netting a superb hat-trick, Ivan setting up the third, as we left South Wales with all three points thanks to a 3-2 win.
Sergi's form in December also saw him nominated for both the EFL and Give Me Sport Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month awards while both Sergi and Ivan were named in the WhoScored.com Team of the Month for December.
