For the sixth time this season Brentford will be taking on Premier League opposition as this time Leicester City are up next for The Bees. The sides will meet in an Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round tie for the second season in a row. The game will be played on Sunday, 24 January, and will kick-off at 2.30pm.

The tie is an exact repeat of the Fourth Round tie last year. Leicester won that tie, the last cup game ever played at Griffin Park, 12 months ago, with a solitary goal scored by Kelechi Iheanacho. Leicester reached the last eight before losing to Chelsea in 2020.

Goals from Halil Dervişoğlu and Saman Ghoddos sent us through to the Fourth Round following a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough earlier this month while Leicester thrashed Stoke City to reach this stage. Since those cup ties The Bees have beaten Luton Town to climb to third in the Sky Bet Championship. They will put the league on hold for a few days for this tie and will be taking on one of the top teams in the country.

A win over Chelsea on Tuesday night took Leicester to the top of the Premier League for just under 24 hours. They currently sit behind Manchester United and Manchester City in the table. The Foxes are only two points off the top having reached the midway point of the season.

No team in the Premier League has won more games than Leicester and they have also won seven of nine games on the road. Leicester have won three in a row and are unbeaten in six, winning four of them. They are also in the last 32 of the Europa League. But Brentford have also taken four Premier League scalps this term, beating Southampton, West Bromwich Albion, Fulham and Newcastle United on the way to the last four of the Carabao Cup where they lost to Tottenham Hotspur.

The game will be live on BT Sport One. Coverage will come from our new stadium from 2pm. There will be audio commentary on iFollow Brentford.
