The young Bees named a much changed XI for their trip to Adams Park with a number of Trialists involved, two from the start, whilst Ryan Trevitt started in midfield alongside Julien Carre and Aaron Pressley lead the line up front.

Wycombe named a highly experienced side on home soil and the young Bees put up more than a good fight with their battling efforts unquestionable throughout.

In fairness it was the home side who saw more of the ball and chances in the first period with the impressive Nathan Shepperd collecting from Anthony Stewart's header just a couple of minutes in. For much of the opening 20 minutes the sides continued to trade possession with the likes of Carre and Trevitt looking to get on the ball and feed the channels with Lachlan Brook involved heavily down the right-hand side.

Shepperd would be forced into action on the 20-minute mark when Pattison shot from distance, and with a heavy deflection, the young Welsh keeper adjusted to tip over the powerful drive.

A couple more headers for Wycombe as the half wore on would see the young Bees defend strongly as they made it tough for their opponents to get clear-cut chances with bodies on the line in a committed display with Kane O’Connor marshalling things impressively at the back once again.

The second period saw chances become fewer for the home side with Brentford B’s first real opening after the break coming when a teasing free-kick from Brook saw Crama challenge in the air at the far post, but for some good pressure from the Wycombe back line.

Neil MacFarlane’s side hadn’t had a game since 4 January, but that wouldn’t have told when a Wycombe counter-attack in the 75th minute saw bodies flood back at pace before an excellently timed interception from Crama ensured the hosts would be unable to test Shepperd.

11 minutes from time Wycombe would have the chance to go ahead when another counter saw Kashket jink inside and as Shepperd tried to claim the ball he tripped the Wanderers man and the referee pointed to the spot. Pattison then stepped up to take the penalty to score the all-important winner low into the net.

Having fallen behind it would be Brentford B who would push for an equaliser late on with perhaps the best chance falling for Lewis Gordon who drove down the left and worked his way into the box, but his powerful drive was well kept out as the match finished 1-0.
