In the FA Cup, Ellery Balcombe came up against Said Benrahma as Doncaster Rovers travelled to West Ham United in the Fourth Round of the competition.

Both players played the full 90 in a game that West Ham controlled from the off as they went ahead through Pablo Fornals on two minutes before Andriy Yarmolenko’s effort was followed up by an own goal for West Ham’s third and Oladapo Afolayan added a fourth.

Despite shipping four goals Ellery saved a number of West Ham efforts, one of which was an eye catching stop to deny Said’s free-kick.

In Sky Bet League One Swindon Town left London perhaps a little disappointed not to have taken all three points when Charlton Athletic netted a last minute equaliser to make it 2-2 through Andrew Shinnie. Hallam Hope and Matthew Palmer had given Swindon a two-goal lead before the break, but Chuks Aneke pulled one back just after the hour mark before Shinnie’s late effort. Dom Thompson got another 90 minutes under his belt as Swindon now sit 23rd in the table.

AFC Wimbledon ended their five-match losing run when they drew 1-1 with Crewe Alexandra. Jaakko Oksanen was an unused sub but will be eager to get game time when The Dons face Ellery’s Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday.

In Sky Bet League Two Arthur Read got another 90 minutes but was unable to prevent Stevenage’s 3-1 loss away at Exeter City. The Grecians went ahead early on through Archie Collins before Matt Jay made it 2-0 in the 79th minute. Stevenage thought they’d got back into the game when Elliott List struck nine minutes from time but it would be Ryan Bowman who scored for the Devon side to give them the 3-1 win.

On foreign soil Patrik Gunnarsson started Silkeborg’s friendly with Vejle BK but was unable to prevent a 1-0 defeat at home as Ylber Ramadani grabbed the only goal of the game. Next up for Patrik’s side is another friendly fixture with FC Midtjylland.

In another friendly, Joel Valencia played the first 75 minutes of Legia Warsaw’s 0-0 draw with Krasnodar. The side will face Stomil Olsztyn in another friendly match on Wednesday.

In Turkey, Kasımpaşa S.K. face Sivasspor today and they currently sit 16th in the Turkish Super Lig. Julian Jeanvier is still missing through injury.
