There was midweek action for a number of our loan players this week with Ellery Balcombe continuing his good form with Doncaster Rovers.
He secured a second clean sheet in three games in the 1-0 win over Rochdale on Tuesday night as Rovers picked up their sixth win in seven league games to sit fourth in the Sky Bet League One table. They will travel to Premier League side West Ham United in the Emirates FA Cup this weekend.
Also in League One, Jaakko Oksanen's AFC Wimbledon picked up a heavy defeat on the road at Portsmouth. The midfielder was an unused substitute on the night at Fratton Park and they will be looking to get back to wining ways when they travel to Crewe Alexandra at the weekend.
In the same division there was no midweek game for Dom Thompson and Swindon Town, but they will prepare to head to Charlton Athletic this Saturday.
In Sky Bet League Two Arthur Read's Stevenage had their match with Crawley Town postponed due to a Covid-19 outbreak amongst their opponents, and they now face a long trip to Devon to face Exeter City this weekend.
In the Premier League, Saïd Benrahma played the first 62 minutes for an in form West Ham in the 2-1 win over West Brom. The all-important goals came from Jared Bowen and Michail Antonio and they're now up to seventh in the league table. Saïd could face up against Ellery this weekend in the FA Cup.
On foreign shores Patrik Gunnarsson got his first taste of game time for Silkeborg in a friendly with SønderjyskE. His side were beaten 5-3 with Patrik playing the second half. They will play another friendly on Sunday against Vejle Boldklub.
Legia Warsaw stepped up their return to action with a friendly themselves as they beat Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 at home earlier in the week but Joel Valencia wasn't involved. The side will host Krasnodar in another match today.
Kasımpaşa S.K.were beaten 2-1 at home by BB Erzurumspor on Monday and will be looking for a win and to climb higher then their 16th place in the Turkish league when they travel to MKE Ankaragücü. Julian Jeanvier is still missing for the side through injury.
