The Race Europe event will see 14 London Football Clubs race across Europe in a virtual activity challenge. Working in squads of 23, each Club aim to be the fastest to cover the 6,720 miles that separate all of the Euro 2021 Host Cities.
The event is currently scheduled to run during March and participants can log miles in nearly 80 different activities (subject to any Government guidelines). We will be monitoring the government guidance on exercise and outdoor activities over the next few weeks and constantly reviewing and adapting the list of approved activities to make sure that the challenge can be completed safely and in line with all legislation.
When the challenge is live an event portal will chart the progress of each Club team and as each squad reaches a host city, information about that city and its footballing history will be unlocked.
All funds raised from the event will support Brentford Community Sports Trust’s work in the community.
Working in partnership with Brentford FC, the Trust offers a portfolio of programmes in education, employability, sports participation, health and community engagement.
We have won the ‘Football League Community Club of the Year’ award four times and have cemented our reputation as a community-led Football Club.
However, there are many more people in need of support and for many months to come as the impact of COVID-19 continues to impact our communities and our people, affecting both their physical and mental health.
To secure a place in the Race Europe Virtual Event 2021, you will need to pay £10 entry fee and commit to raising £100 in sponsorship (excluding Gift Aid).
Watford are currently leading the way with 21 sign-ups. Help get Brentford in front and raise funds for Brentford Community Sports Trust!
The member of the Brentford team responsible for clocking up the most miles will be rewarded with a pair of tickets to a Bees game at Brentford Community Stadium, and all Brentford Squad members will be presented with medals to mark their participation.
