Ellery Balcombe missed out on an Emirates FA Cup award. The 21-year-old goalkeeper is on loan at Doncaster Rovers from Brentford for the rest of the 2020/21 season. And when playing for Doncaster in the FA Cup Fourth Round last month he made a stop that has earned him a nominated for the Save of the Round award. But he was beaten to the prize.
Ellery joined Doncaster at the start of the year and helped them through to the Fourth Round. They were beaten by West Ham United at The London Stadium but Ellery made an impression. And one of his saves was selected as one of the best four in the 16 ties played in the Fourth Round but it was Kepa Arrizabalaga, of Chelsea, that won the vote.
