Hundreds of girls took part in football tournaments before the closure of schools for the Christmas holidays. Brentford FC Community Sports Trust organised the events earlier this year. Dozens of teams got out on the pitch to compete.

The events were organised as part of the Premier League Primary Stars initiative. The Primary Stars scheme provides free, flexible and easy-to-use resources for schools. Using the power of football, the programme offers a host of free resources to encourage youngsters to learn, be active and develop important life skills as well as organising sporting events.

The Trust ran football tournaments for girls in school years five and six before the end of term. More events will be run in 2022. See more, with pictures, below.
