The next round of Premier League games starts tomorrow and Fantasy Premier League managers are getting prepared. The first game of the weekend is at 12.30pm tomorrow, New Year's Day, Saturday January 1, and the deadline for FPL bosses to choose their teams is just hours away. The FPL experts have identified Brentford as a team to look at.
Every week there are a series of tips for Fantasty Premier League Managers. This afternoon managers have been reminded that some teams play two games that will count in the upcoming gameweek. Brentford - who play Aston Villa on Sunday, 2 January, and Southampton on Tuesday 11 January - are one of those teams.
Ivan Toney has been selected as a player that could make a difference for those looking to have a good week in FPL. The striker has also been chosen in a list of the best players to select. Álvaro Fernández is also on that list.
In a piece here, The Scout - who writes about Fantasy Premier League for the Premier League - has suggested Ivan as one of five players that will offer value this week. Every week five players are chosen by The Scout. Ivan is on that list this week and also, like Álvaro, in The Scout's team for the week.
"Brentford’s striker will benefit from two fixtures in DGW21," writes The Scout. "Brentford are facing Aston Villa and Southampton. Toney was successful in his previous outing against Villa, scoring and earning six points in Gameweek 3. The Bees' star could also deliver against Southampton."
The Scout, writing about his team for the week added: "At a cost of only £4.5m, the Brentford goalkeeper could prove strong value for his two matches against Aston Villa and Southampton. Fernández has totalled seven save points in his nine appearances this term." See the team of the week here.
FPL is live with the season underway and managers can make changes to their squad ahead every week. For the first time ever, you can put Brentford players in it. You can play in classic leagues, with total points deciding the rankings, or take part in head-to-head leagues, where managers duel each Gameweek, earning three points for a win and one for a draw.
