Brentford fans are being invited to bid for a signed golden boot. The Brentford Lifeline Society are hosting a special event this week which will include an auction. One of the items available will be the boot, pictured above.

The Brentford Lifeline Society Prize Christmas Event will be held at Brentford Novotel on Thursday, 16 December. There will be a charity auction on the night with all proceeds shared between two charities. Money raised will be split between Mind, the mental health charity, and Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. Since its formation in 1995, CRY has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). CRY – which has former player, manager and Chief Scout Andy Scott as a patron – supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD. Brentford FC has been raising money for CRY at a variety of events over the past three years in memory of former Technical Director Robert Rowan, who died suddenly in November 2018 after suffering a fatal cardiomyopathy episode.

Bees fans can help raise money for Mind and CRY and also get their hands on the Perspex framed golden boot signed by the 2019/20 Brentford squad, which finished third in the Sky Bet Championship and reached the Play-Off Final. Bids of over £200 are being invited for the boot ahead of the auction on the night. If you want to bid, please email Brentford Lifeline Society Chairman Peter Gilham at [email protected].
