After back-to-back away matches, Brentford are on their own patch again for their next Premier League fixture. The Bees will be in action on Friday this week in a match that will kick-off at 8pm. Watford will be coming to town for a match televised live by Sky Sports on Friday, 10 December, the first match of the Premier League weekend.

Brentford will come in to the game on the back of four points in a three match week. The Bees drew 2-2 with Leeds United on Sunday, conceding a last gasp equaliser. This followed a defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday. The last time Brentford were at home they beat Everton 1-0, the match which started a run of ten games in five weeks.

The point at Elland Road leaves Brentford 13th in the table. They are within three points of Brighton and Hove Albion, who sit ninth, and in a group of nine teams separated by six points in the centre of the Premier League. Crystal Palace, Leeds and Southampton are just a point behind Brentford while Everton are a point ahead.

Watford will come to West London on the back of 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday evening. That was their third defeat in a row, fifth in their last six games and seventh in nine. Their wins in that time have been memorable - 5-2 away at Everton and 4-1 at home to Manchester United.

The Hertfordshire side at 17th in the Premier League. They are three points ahead of Burnley, who have a game in hand and three behind Crystal Palace, Leeds and Southampton. They sit four places and four points behind Brentford.

Watford will be making their second trip to Brentford this year and it is the fourth meeting between the teams in 12 months. The teams finished second and third in the Sky Bet Championship last season, with Watford winning automatic promotion and The Bees clinching their place in the Premier League via the Play-Offs.

The first of those meetings was last December when the teams drew 1-1 in Hertfordshire, both scoring from the penalty spot. Brentford won the return game in May 2-0 with Marcus Forss and Ivan Toney finding the net. Watford had already clinched promotion and The Bees secured third place. The sides also met in a pre-season friendly behind closed doors in August, Brentford winning that 3-1.

The win in May was a rare Brentford victory over Watford. Prior to that, Watford had not lost since the sides met in a Division Four fixture in 1977. Watford were unbeaten in 17 in a variety of competitions, winning 11 of them.
